Opening

BGate 2010 - the ninth international business exhibition of clothing and textiles in Bulgaria

On September 16, 2010 officially opened the international exhibition BGate 2010. The event was held at Inter Expo Centre Sofia within three days, bringing together manufacturers and distributors of clothing, textiles, machinery and accessories.

The exhibition was officially opened by Mr. Evgeny Ivanov, deputy .- minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Ministry, Mr. Francesco Marki, Managing Director of EURATEX, Mrs. Valeria Jekova, President of BAATPE, Mr. Henryh Tvesten, Head of German Society for Technical Cooperation, and Mr. Ivan Ivanov, Director of the Inter Expo Center - co-organizer of the event.

Participants of BGate 2010 were many approved Bulgarian brands such as “Amman”, “Veni Style”, “Diogen”, “Avery Denison”, INTERTEKS, I.N.A. Trading, “Karina”, Chris "," Miroglio” "Magik", "Rollman," Top Man ", the National Union of cooperative producers and others. With collective stand participated the companies - members of the Association Branch organization for textiles and clothing companies in Southwestern Bulgaria, including "Vital", "Siven,"Vital “, “Piros”, ”Niteks”, “Valeo”.

Traditionally at the end of the first day of the event over 12 Bulgarian designers presented their latest collections spring / summer 2011with fashion show in a central lobby of the Inter Expo Center. The models from "Visage" agency defile in formal and boutique garments, knitwear and ladies and men's clothing  from famous Bulgarian firms as “Etere "" Magik "," Rollmann "," Richmart "," Karina "," Piarlet ", “Siven”, a fashion studio “Coralia” and others.
Besides the established Bulgarian brands, their collections, inspired by the everyday life of modern woman, presented young designers from New Bulgarian University, National Art Academy and Free University in Varna.

"Now we are working permanently with promising designers from different Bulgarian universities. Soon we hope the industry will overcome the economic downturn, so innovation, creativity and fresh insight of the students are even more important because they will ensure the future of the industry. Working with the education system and universities is a focus which we believe will allow us to maintain and increase our creativity and competitiveness in the context of the European market, "- said Mrs. Valeria Jekova, President of BAATPE (Bulgarian Association of Producers and exporters of clothing and textiles) at the opening of the show.

The fashion show was attended by many official guests and BAATPE partners, ambassadors, representatives of European associations : EURATEX , Italian SMI - Sistema Moda Italia, with representative Gianni Broviya, Dutch MODINT, represented by Antonio Barbera, Austrian TBSL with official representative Dr. Franz Pitnik, divers media etc.



The General Director of EURATEX Mr. Francesco Marki visited the country for the first time specifically for the exhibition BGate 2010. On the specially organized press conference after the event, Mr. Marki commended clothing manufacturers from Europe for the quality of work and stressed the need for cooperation and interaction between firms. His words were supported by Mr. Bertram Rollman, Vice - President of the Board of BAATPE who said that foreign companies never stop looking for partners with rapid reaction in order to develop common products and here is the power of Bulgarian producers.
”Despite the crisis our companies remained stable and increased his advantage over Asian producers, "said Valeria Jekova, President of BAATPE. Bulgarian companies are flexible, can easily produce small and fast orders, have own highly equipped facilities and qualified staff. Therefore, the interest of major fashion brands from Europe and the U.S. aims to Bulgaria and the Balkans.
Despite the long crisis and loss, Bulgarian producers and exporters of textiles and clothing remain optimistic about the future of the sector.
